Linz Augmented Tours

Follow our suggested routes on Google Maps and set off on an interactive walk through the city: discover exciting, fascinating, and hidden places in Linz.

Walk (4−6 hours)

Start at the Main Station (Station 1) – walk to Station 8 and from there (Rudolfstraße stop) take the Pöstlingberg Railway up to Station 9 (alternatively on foot: City Hiking Trail No. 2, length 8 km, walking time +2.5 hours). Once there, you can optionally visit the Grottenbahn (admission required) or enjoy one of the cafés/restaurants with a panoramic view of the city. Return by railway to the Main Square, and from there continue on foot to Stations 10 – 13.

Compact (2 hours)

In about two hours, you can visit the stations around the city center. At the final station, a visit to the Nordico Stadtmuseum Linz offers the chance to experience nine additional indoor animations.

Do it your way

If you’re simply curious, you can explore the stations in any order on your own. Just click on the locations and find them on Google Maps.

User Guidelines

The Artivive app recognizes the object to be activated on-site using a stored trigger and, once detected, displays the augmented visualization. The brochure explains which area activates the animation. Please note: surface dirt and changing light conditions (sunshine, clouds) may cause the trigger not to be recognized immediately. Most stations do not work at night. Also make sure your smartphone battery is charged, or bring a power bank with you.

Accessibility

Many of the stations in public spaces are easily accessible with strollers and wheelchairs. However, as the urban environment is constantly changing, we cannot guarantee full accessibility at all times

Sound on!
Many stations also feature audio..
